Yesterday I forgot to blog this but this was an extension task that only me and my friend Aaron could only do because we finished all our assigned work. Overall it took us all day to complete but we complete it. 🙂
Measurements: Different units
Today me and my friends did a task on maths with different types of measurement units and the easiest was probably the Grams. This was very easy and only took 5 minutes. 🙂
Similes and Metaphors
Today I did a 2 man task and we both did task about similes and metaphors. Overall I loved learning about vocbulary words 🙂
Remembering: Finding the volume in 3D cones
Today my teacher told me to make a poster about what I should remember for my maths work. I needed to remember my volume and how to find the volume of a 3D cone. All I really need to remember is the formulae/sum of the question. Overall I really did learn something new and fun. 🙂
Voluptuous Volume
Today I did a task on volume, Area and Perimeter. It was kinda easy and my friend likes to copy me for all my work. Overall I liked it and my friend ain’t smart. 🙂
Fun participation activity with my class
Today, me and my class (Room 4) did an activity that revolves around our class treaty and our rules we made up for our class strike rules. First we had to make a bridge that could hold the weight of a small light dice. That one was probably one of the easier activities that we did. The bridge wasn’t that complicating to make but we still need to work on our agreements and our teamwork. Secondly we had to create a tower that could withstand itself without anyone holding it, we didn’t win but we made a house out of straws.
After that, we did a challenge where we needed to make a 4 up high tower but we had to stack it with a rubber band that has 4 knots tied on it from each corner. We messed up quite a bit but after a while we accomplished the challenge without coming last. Finally, we did our last challenge which we needed to stack the cups as high as we could, we came first as the first to use all the cups. Overall, my highlight was getting to meet some people in my class that i usually never have discussions with. and my second highlight was the contributing that was happening throughout the fun activities.
Quick maths
Today I did a special task about super hard tasks and the only way to make it to these type of tasks is to finish all your other school work. My friend needed a lot of help but I needed a bit of help. Overall this was fun and interesting 🙂
Maori: He aha to hia hia
Today we did a Maori task on trying to do a conversation with the saying “He aha To Hiahia” and we also attempted to do a normal Maori conversation. Think I did good? Overall it was super fun but also insanely easy 🙂

Measurement: Converting
Today I did an individual activity on Measurement such as Centremeters, Metres, kilometres, Millilitres, Litres, Grams and Kilograms. I think i’ve imporved on converting certain math units like these ones right here. Overall this activity was very fun and easy 🙂
KPMG Trip!
Today a group of 31 kids went on a trip into a city for a office tour and some activities to the KPMG tower in auckland city. We left early in the morning around 9:00-9:10 am and it took around 20 minutes to get to our destination. First we had to go through an introduction with various amounts of people who work there. KPMG is all about accounting and fanancial advisors.
Next we went on an office tour around the whole building and all the floors looked exactly the same with a lot of office moniters and little cubic spaces for the meetings and zoom calls. we went in groups of 5-6-7 people and my group were the only year 8 boys group. We saw the CEO of the whole company doing a zoom call in one of the cubic rooms so he was isolated.
Next we went on several different floors with the same thing over and over again. We finished that and came back to this room called the infinity room and it is a room where the visitors come and/or hang out. We went in there for our morning tea and it was Sausage rolls with tomato sauce and scones with jam and whipped cream. it was super delicious.
We went and did our first activity and it was about photoshopping. so first we went and took a green screen picture in random costumes we found on a table and we could choose through a various amount of background pictures for our photoshop background. There was a photoshop profession who did all 31 of our pictures and we gave her a huge thank you after that.
Then we had our lunch staright after that. The lunch we got served Chicken tenders, Small burgers on sticks, Egg and lettuce salad (Which was surprisingly delicous) also we had fruit kebabs with more orange juice for a drink. We could also dive in for seconds if we were even more hungry.
The next activity we did was playdough making into a person so we could make an animation with photos of the playdough man moving constantly. I couldn’t finish it so I just played around with it. Finally we packed up and said a huge thank you to the staff of the company and overall, this was an amazing experience on seeing what it’s like to see what it’s like to be an accountant.
